Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh is India's perfume capital, home to centuries of traditional deg bhapka distillation and the source of much of the country's attar and rose oil heritage. The fragrance is built around the stillness of morning in that city, using saffron, rose and agarwood, the materials Kannauj is known for.
It is a modern Eau de Parfum that draws on attar heritage rather than reproducing it. Traditional attars are oil based, extremely concentrated and applied in tiny amounts. This is an alcohol based EDP with saffron, rose and agarwood built into a lighter, more wearable structure with tonka and white musk.
It delivers 8 to 10 hours with high projection. Amber, tonka bean, oakmoss and white musk are all slow evaporating materials, so the drydown is long and the fragrance stays present well into the evening from a morning application.
